Congratulations to the faculty and staff of JHH and JHU Department of Pathology and all 34 clinical labs on a successful CAP (College of American Pathologists) inspection.
We are pleased to announce that The Johns Hopkins Hospital and Johns Hopkins University clinical laboratories anticipate that we will be awarded another two-year accreditation by the CAP Accreditation Committee, based on the results of our April 19-21st inspection.
The CAP inspection was conducted by a group of 21 inspectors from the University of Minnesota. The inspectors reviewed our policies and procedures, staff qualifications, quality control practices, equipment, facilities, safety and quality programs and overall management. This rigorous inspection is designed specifically to ensure the highest standard of care for our patients. We were congratulated for the “great and impressive work” and “visionary” leadership of our labs. Members of the inspection team specifically commented on how “humbling it is to be here” and the “terrific job” of our staff and faculty over the two and half day inspection.
We are grateful to our leadership, Dr. Mike Borowitz, Eric Schmith and our entire CQI team who organized and prepared our various labs for inspection. We also recognize and appreciate the countless hours of our faculty and staff who prepared us for the inspection, and who graciously shared our work with the inspectors.
Our success is a direct result of your effort and hard work the last two days and the commitment to high quality care you show each and every day.
Thank you!
