At the 2013 USCAP meeting, former fellows of Peter Burger, as well as the king himself, presented cases representing disease entities which Dr. Burger helped to describe. Organized by Dr. Dan Brat, the session was titled “Lessons and Lesions from Peter Burger’s Notebook”. Dr. Ty Abel presented a case of Lhermitte-Duclos disease, Dr. Charles Eberhart a nodular medulloblastoma, Dr. Tarik Tihan a pilomyxoid astrocytoma, and Dr. Greg Fuller a chordoid glioma. Dr. Burger finished the session by presenting a small cell glioblastoma case, an entity for which he continues to correlate morphology with molecular findings.
