There is an amazing art exhibit in the Turner Concourse that runs until April 2, 2012. It contains artwork created by Johns Hopkins employees and their relatives. Mediums displayed include oil and acrylic paintings, charcoal sketches, ink drawings, sculpture, jewelry, and craft work. There are a number of pieces from Pathology employees, many of whom work in Pathology Photography Division, a/k/a “Path Photo.”
The art exhibit is sponsored by the National Arts Program® (NAP) in Malvern, Pennsylvania, which was established in 1982 to identify, showcase, and reward visual artistic talent in America. NAP sponsors 89 venues in 42 states and the District of Columbia, and Johns Hopkins is the only venue currently in the State of Maryland and is in its fourth year of participation.
The opening of the Hopkins Show began February 6. The following day awards were given in several categories, including adult amateur, adult intermediate, adult professional, youth 12 & under, teen 13-18, and best of show.
